The first matches in the main draw of the Bulgarian International were played on Thursday. A few surprises occurred as some of the seeded players crashed out already in the first round. The biggest upset was caused by the Swede Henri Hurskainen who overcame the top seeded Canadian, Bobby Milroy, in their first round showdown.
